Restaurant Technologies Releases Second Corporate Impact Report

The report highlights the company’s commitment to sustainability, education, and being one of the best places to work nationally and regionally

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn., (October 14, 2024) Restaurant Technologies released its second corporate impact report highlighting the organization’s accomplishments in sustainability, workplace culture, and DE&I initiatives. The report includes the 314 million pounds of waste oil recycled in 2023, several national and regional best workplace awards, and the hundreds of thousands raised for secondary education through its educational foundation.

“We strive to be the best organization we can be by engaging our partners in building a more sustainable world, empowering our employees by listening to their feedback, and ensuring that we have an inclusive workplace with diverse ideas from different backgrounds,” said Jeff Kiesel, President and Chief Executive Officer.

With the support of renewable energy partners such as Chevron Renewable Energy Group, Restaurant Technologies shows its commitment to sustainability by converting 100% of used cooking oil collected from its 45,000 customers into renewable diesel or biodiesel. In 2023, the company helped save about 26.7 million pounds of trash, more than 8 million cubic feet of landfill space, reduced petroleum diesel usage by more than 40 million gallons and helped avoid more than 1 billion pounds in CO2e emissions.

“Sustainability is at the core of what we do. As an industry leader, we have the responsibility to lead with our initiatives and make a positive impact in the world,” said Diana Geseking, General Counsel and chair of the Restaurant Technologies’ ESG committee.

In 2024, the organization was recognized nationally by Newsweek in three categories: America’s Greatest Workplaces, America’s Greatest Workplaces for Diversity, and America’s Best Workplaces for Mental Health. It was also recognized regionally by the Minneapolis St-Paul Business Journal as a Best Place to Work for the fourth time.

“We want to make sure our employees feel heard and that their ideas are being implemented where possible,” said Alissa Partee, Chief People Officer. “Companies are only as good as the people who help build it. We are honored by all the recognition received this year as a great workplace.”

One of those initiatives that matter to employees is the Restaurant Technologies’ Educational Foundation that has raised over $600 thousand since its inception in 2013. The foundation has awarded 84 scholarships to the children of Restaurant Technologies’ employees. Employees, board members, and suppliers all contribute to the fund over the year. In 2023 and 2024, Kiesel matched all donations.
